Talented designers & makers: Fils de Rêves

Today we’re back with the column “Talented Designers & Makers”. I like to think that even for Christmas, time for shopping for ourselves and for the ones we love, it’s wonderful to buy something unique, produced in an ethical and sustainable way by small independent brands, created by people who made a job from their passion: this is the case of Valentina, italian crafter, who started sewing at the age of 13. Both her grandmothers were seamstresses. Valentina studied in a professional school dedicated to clothing and fashion, and from that moment on, her love for fabrics and patterns grew, leading her to found Fils de Rêves (that means “Threads of dreams”).

Oggi torna la rubrica Talented Designers & Makers. Mi piace pensare che anche per Natale, tempo di acquisti e regali per se stessi e le persone che amiamo, sia meraviglioso cercare qualcosa di unico, prodotto in modo etico e sostenibile da piccoli marchi indipendenti che hanno fatto della propria passione un lavoro: è il caso di Valentina, creativa italiana cresciuta circondata da nonne sarte, che cuce dall’età di 13 anni. Valentina ha svolto i suoi studi presso una scuola professionale con indirizzo abbigliamento e moda, e da lì il suo amore per tessuti e modelli non ha fatto che crescere, fino a portarla a fondare Fils de Rêves (che significa “fili di sogni”).
{ENG} Fils de Rêves is a small clothing brand, that she design and sew all by herself. It’s an artisanal project that distinguishes itself thanks to the fabrics, with an inclination for colors and floral prints.
Valentina’s aim is to give value to the beauty, enhancing each girl and woman’s personality: a particular attention is given to the wearability of the clothes, that is always practical, comfortable and versatile, and to the finishes, always accurate, with a sartorial care. All the clothes are in an unique size, perfect for sizes from about 38 to 46.
{ITA} Quello di Valentina è, usando le sue parole, “un piccolo brand di abbigliamento, disegnato e cucito interamente da me. Un prodotto artigianale che si contraddistingue per i tessuti: una predilezione per i colori e le fantasie floreali. L'obiettivo è quello di valorizzare la bellezza, esaltando la personalità di ognuna: un'attenzione particolare è dedicata alla vestibilità dei capi, pratica, comoda e versatile, rifiniture curate dal sapore sartoriale, il tutto con capi in taglia unica (dalla 38 alla 46 circa)”.
{ENG} I’ve been following the work of Valentina for some years now, and I’m proud to have some of her creations in my closet. I fell in love with her style as soon as I bumped into Fils de Rêves!
Her latest collection “Chocolat d’Automne”, is inspired by the film “Chocolat”, one of her favorite, set in a small village in Burgundy, a region in France. Who doesn’t know this film? I think I watched it a million times!
Valentina says “I adore chocolate, the cozy atmospheres with a taste “of home”, and the gypsy soundtrack of this film totally fascinated and inspired me”.
Chocolat d’Automne is a collection that wants to take care of Valentina’s customers, to make them feel beautiful and special during the Autumn/Winter season. It wants “to give you a new energy with warm and cozy tones, make you dream with the romantic flowers of the prints, comfortable dresses and midi skirts to give you comfort and beauty at the same time”.
{ITA} Conosco Valentina da anni ormai, e sono orgogliosa di avere nel mio guardaroba alcune delle sue creazioni. Mi sono innamorata del suo stile non appena ho scoperto Fils de Rêves!
L’ultima sua collezione, “Chocolat d’Automne” è ispirata al film “Chocolat”, uno dei suoi preferiti, ambientati in un paesino in Borgogna, regione della Francia. Chi non conosce questo film? Io penso di averlo visto un milione di volte!
Valentina dice “Io adoro il cioccolato, le atmosfere che ''sanno di casa'' e le musiche gitane di questo film mi hanno letteralmente incantata e ispirata”.
Chocolat d’Automne è una collezione che vuole prendersi cura delle clienti di Valentina, farle sentire belle e speciali durante la stagione autunnale/invernale, vuole “donarvi una nuova energia con toni caldi e avvolgenti, farvi sognare con i fiori romantici delle fantasie, abiti comodi e gonne midi per donarvi comfort ma bellezza allo stesso tempo”.
{ENG} And what about the coats? They’re beautiful and warm, that’s why they’re almost already sold out! In her shop you can still find one, but hurry up if you don’t want to miss it! The new coats will be available from January ;)
{ITA} E vogliamo parlare dei cappottini? Sono così belli e caldi che sono già praticamente sold out, nel suo shop ne rimane solo uno, quindi affrettatevi se non volete perdervelo! I prossimi cappottini saranno disponibili da gennaio ;)
