Night sky earrings: when two designers-makers meet

Last February I received an email from Carolina, the super talented designer and maker behind Carolina Emme independent label (last year I wrote a blog post about her and her clothing, read it here). She asked me to create a pair of earrings for her new Summer collection “Florence”, a gypsy chic, boho chic ornament inspired by the night sky.

I think that it is unnecessary to say that I was more than happy to accept! So in the following months, following her ideas and her new collection’s inspirations, I designed the first pair of these statement sparkling earrings. She wanted a starry sky and here it is: a wonderful starry night to wear on your ears. Carolina loved them at first! So we went on with our project together and some pairs of ready-to-ship earrings landed in her Etsy shop (and they are already gone! I’m restocking in these weeks, but they are available as pre-order).

Using Carolina’s words: 🌛 ”In love with her crescent moons lobe, which I always wear, we decided to start putting some ideas together and creating something more gipsy, bohemian for the Florence collection. So the crescent moons became more glittering and from there, the sky filled with stars and lights”. 🌜

It’s a beautiful cascade earrings, with crescent moons and tiny stars handmade out of brass, tiny faceted pyrite gemstone beads and chains. The pins and the butterfly closure are sterling silver.

They are nickel free.

The sterling silver version is coming soon!

You can wear them in three ways:

-like Carolina suggested in her styled photos (browse the photos in these post);

-swapping the sides, with the point of the moon going the other way;

-as “climber earrings” with the moon laying on the lobe.

The tiny faceted pyrite beads and their reflections will give to the earrings the right amount of sparkle and light!

If you are you looking for ideas and inspirations on how to wear them, run to Carolina Emme's shop and fall in love with her stunning designs!

The ready to ship pairs of earrings are currently sold out, but they are available for pre-orders both in my Etsy shop and in Carolina's Etsy shop

These lunar earrings are born in collaboration with Carolina Emme:

But this is not all... Carolina and I are already working on the next piece of jewellery together! ;)
